Advantages of the Trezor T
- Touchscreen: The touchscreen makes the Trezor T very user-friendly, making navigation and transactions easier.
- Bitcoin-only firmware: Like other Trezor models, the Trezor T allows you to install the Bitcoin-only firmware. This allows you to manage only Bitcoin, without other coins affecting the wallet's security through unnecessary code.
- Open-source: Trezor's software is fully open-source, meaning the community can inspect and verify the code for possible errors or vulnerabilities.
Disadvantages of the Trezor T
- No Secure Element: Like the Trezor One, the Trezor T does not feature a security chip (Secure Element), making the wallet more vulnerable to physical theft. We recommend using the Trezor T only with a passphrase (25th word) for added security.
- Limited network support: While the Trezor T supports Ethereum, Solana, and Cardano tokens, the support for newer networks is limited. Networks like Kaspa and Base are not supported.
Who is the Trezor T suitable for?
The Trezor T is ideal for crypto users who want to use their wallet with a passphrase. It is also the most affordable hardware wallet with a touchscreen.
However, if you are more serious about Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, we recommend purchasing a Trezor Safe 3 (without touchscreen) or Trezor Safe 5 (with touchscreen) instead of the Trezor T. These newer models offer more functionality and security.
